the available room is in the back of my apartment, next to the back entrance from the deck. far and away the best thing about my place is its location. it's a block and a half from sunset blvd., a few blocks from echo park lake to the south and elysian park to the east. there's lots of free music nearby, like at the echo, several excellent coffee shops and restaurants, and a couple grocery stores as well as a walgreens a block away. the room for rent includes a parking spot behind the apartment in a driveway shared with our back house neighbors. there's a washer and dryer back there, but i usually use the 24/hr laundromat around the corner.

the second best thing about this place is the apartment itself. it's a bit older, so it has cool built-in cabinets and ornate molding. there's a patio off of my room in the front that's shared. there is also a deck at the back of the house with a nice view. the kitchen and bathroom are nothing special. the water pressure in the shower is excellent though. the room for rent has a big walk-in closet with shelves and room to hang clothes and store stuff. there's lots of cabinet space in the kitchen and hallway as well. the room itself is not large, as you can see from the photos. the total rent bill for the apartment is $1960. i pay $1060, you pay $900, and we split utilities 50/50. utilities include gas, water and power, and internet. the landlord takes care of trash and recycling.

ideally you are a laid-back individual who wants to experience the best neighborhood in la in a modestly priced spot. i don't care if you're male or female or what you do for a living, although creative types might be preferred. i don't mind clutter although i keep my place pretty clean. lastly, i have strong opinions about decorating, but i'm happy to work together on the design of the place.

it's a 12-month lease and available at the end of june but the lease you'll need to sign starts july 1.
